Ragetti's - "Grumpier Old Men" Filming Location - Marine on Saint Croix, MN

Located Northwest of Marine on Saint Croix in Washington County, Minnesota is where the location for Ragetti's Restaurant can be found. Unfortunately, it is on private property. In the above still from the film, you can see an old shed in the background. If you look at the entrance to the land in the photo below, you can see the same shed to the left. This photo was taken in August of 2014. The restaurant itself was just a fake exterior constructed for the film and torn down after. The interior shots were filmed on a sound stage.

Since the land is private property, getting a shot of the lake (Bass Lake) was not possible in the EXACT spot where Grandpa died in the above still from the film. However, there are a few clearings in the trees near the road, so I snapped the below photo so you can still see the lake itself.

If I tried to give you an address to the spot, you would never find it. Instead, I will give you directions. Going North on I35N, take exit 129. Turn right on CR97. Take a right on Forest Blvd. N. and cruise for four miles. At the round-about, take the third exit onto 170th Street N (you should be heading East at this point) and drive for seven miles. Turn right on Norell Ave. N. and go two miles and then turn right on 150th St. N. About a half a mile down to the right you will see the above clearing with the "No Trespassing" signs. Good luck!
