Cemetery in the Middle of the Road - West Des Moines, IA
Located at the intersection of 88th Street and Mills Civic Parkway is the Huston Cemetery, right in the middle of the road. This small plot holds the bodies of the James Huston family, a mid-1800s family settling in the territory. This photo above is how the location appeared in June of 2018. With development occurring on all sides of the cemetery, it will eventually no longer be in the middle of the road.

Jeffrey Dahmer's Apartment - Milwaukee, WI
In July of 1991, authorities discovered the grousome crimescene in Jeffrey Dahmer's one-bedroom apartment. He lived in the Oxford Apartments, room 213, located at 924 North 25th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In the photo below, police remove the infamous blue barrel that contained three human torsos. Dahmer was charged with the brutal murders of 17 men, many of which he ate and then decorated his apartment with their bones and body parts.
I visted the apartment in 2011, but as you can see in the above and below photos, the lot where the building once stood is now empty. The apartment building was torn down in 1992.

Columbia Ice Arena - "D3: Mighty Ducks 3" Filming Location - Fridley, MN
As of July of 2014, Columbia Arena remains abandoned. It opened in the early 1960s and closed in 2006. I visited this place only to take photos of the exterior. I was shocked when I saw a door propped open. Naturally, I went inside and snapped a few photos after not seeing any "No Trespassing" signs. I hurried out of there because I could tell people were actively squatting there. The address is 7011 University Avenue NE in Fridley, Minnesota. I had originally reported this location was not used for the filming of D3 but I was wrong. This spot was used for ALL of the hockey scenes in the film.
The above still was taken from the film; below is that same side of the arena in 2014.
This is the part that threw me off...do you see those giant windows in the background of the above still from the film? They are not in the arena anymore and they have obviously been boarded up as you can see in my photo below. However, I did not notice how they were boarded up from the inside or the outside. This fact is why I was originally skeptical about this location actually being used in the film. However, after being told by people who were actually there during filming, those windows were a facade put up by the motion picture company and taken down after filming was complete.

OCTOBER 2015 UPDATE!
I am updating this filming location but it brings me great sadness to do so. The Columbia Arena could not be saved. The city of Fridley purchased it and are in the process of tearing it down as I type this. I went back to the arena on October 4th, 2015 and snapped the photo below. You can see building's side pillars still in the ground.
I took a brick home for a keepsake.

Villisca Ax Murder House - Villisca, IA
Lots of information has been reported on this home but I will give you the short version.
This small house in the tiny town of Villisca, Iowa was owned by the Moore family. On the night of June 10th, 1912, all four member of the Moore family, as well as two neighbor girls who were spending the night, were all brutally murdered in their sleep by an unknown person weilding an ax. The murder remains unsolved to this day. The house has been featured on many "ghost tv shows" as it is a mega-hub for paranormal activity. In fact, this home has been ranked in the top five most haunted houses in the world.
The above and below photos are real photos of the Moore family which hang in the home today.
The above and below photos are the kitchen of the home.
The above photo is the livingroom where the bodies of the two neighbor girls were found. Below is a photo of the steps leading up to the bedrooms.
The above photo is where the two adult victims were found. Below is the childrens' room, where the final two vistims were found.
The next three photos below are all from the childrens' room where most of the paranormal activity is recorded.
The above photo is the attic/storage area where experts think the killer hid until the family was asleep. Once they were asleep, the rest is history.
I have my own theories about what happened but that's a long story. If you visit the house, like I did in June of 2014, pay to take the tour. The tour guides will give you all the information you need!

Nodaway Consolidated School - Nodaway, IA
I was passing through this tiny town on a Saturday afternoon in June of 2014. I happened to look to my left and up a hill when I spotted this beauty! I slammed on the brakes and turned around; I couldn't resist going to take a long look at it. At one point in time, this school was buzzing with happy kids. Ironically, this town and school is called Nodaway. It seems this school has definitely nodded away.
