The landscape of downtown Minneapolis has changed dramatically since the filming of "Drop Dead Fred." In the scene documented here, Lizzy's purse and car get stolen while she is on the payphone. In the above still from the film, you can see just how much the area has changed. Below is the same spot, facing north on Harmon Place accross South 12th Street.
In the above still, Lizzy is on the corner in the phone booth. Below is the same corner in August of 2014. You can see the green street pole and yellow traffic light are exactly the same.
In the above still from the film, you can see Lizzy's blue car parked kitty-corner from where the phone booth was. The guy in the blue shirt is about to steal her car! Below is the same spot in 2014. The red building above has also been remodeled as you can see below. It is part of Augusburg College.
