Located at 150 Fifth Street in Marine on Saint Croix, Minnesota, this is the church used at the end of "Grumpier Old Men" for the wedding scene. The above image is a still from the film. As you can see the sign out front that read "Wabasha Community Church" was a fake. Below is the church in August of 2014. The day I was there, they were holding an activity day for the youth of the church.
The employees at the church were very helpful and kind to me. They explained the curtain behind the priest in the above still from the film was placed there to cover the mural of Jesus (seen below) so the church wouldn't be so distinctive. The hooks that hung those curtains are still in the wall to this day.
In the above image, you can see Max and John rushing into the church; below is the same spot in 2014.
The beautiful bride walks down the aisle in the above still; below in 2014.
I'd like to thank the church for allowing me to enter and take photos. Their kindness was much appreciated!
