"Legend has it that in the old Gates Hall (Women's dormitory on the Old Main - Lower Campus of Minnesota State), now a senior citizens home, many residents report the ghost of a college girl walking the hall. A college girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping down the old 3 story tall south elevator shaft in 1920s. Walls have been put up over the elevator doors but residents say that sometimes if you listen very hard you can still hear the elevator moving up and down behind the wall."
