Bye, Bye Gordon - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - St. Paul, MN

The final scene in the film "Mighty Ducks" shows Coach Gordon Bombay saying goodbye to his Ducks and leaving town on a bus to join a professional hockey team. That scene was captured in the still above from the film. Below is that exact spot in July of 2015. You can find it at the corner of 7th Street and St. Peter Street in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Stearns County Courthouse - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - St. Cloud, MN

The Stearns County Courthouse was used for the courtroom and court steps scenes in the original "Mighty Ducks" film. The courthouse address is 725 Courthouse Square in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The courthouse did not allow cameras or cell phones into the building during my visit so I couln't take photos of the interior. However, I did confirm the steps seen in the above still are in this courthouse. Below is an exterior shot I took of the courthouse in September of 2014.

New Hope Ice Arena - "Mighty Ducks" & "D2: Mighty Ducks 2" Filming Location - New Hope, MN

The New Hope Ice Arena, located at 4949 Louisiana Avenue North in New Hope, Minnesota is where the final game on the film "Mighty Ducks" was filmed.
The above photo is how the arena appeared in the film; below is the same arena in 2014.

The opening sequence in "D2: Mighty Ducks 2" was also filmed here. This is the scene where Gordon Bombay gets hurt during his minor league hockey game. Initially, I thought this location was actually Minnehaha Ice Arena in SE Minneapolis due to the sign in the still below. It was a fake sign meant to fool people like me. Both stills below are from "D2."

Poop Purse Scene - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN

This was the scene in the film where the boys put dog poop in a purse and leave it for someone to pick up off the street. The above photo is a still from the film and you can see the neon sign from Little Judge's Liquor Store. It's now 2014 and the liquor store is gone. Below, the tan building on the corner is where the store once stood and this is where the boys would've been filmed running away from the man with the purse.

As you can see, the whole street has changed. The still above is where the Camaro with the poop purse slams on his breaks and throws the purse out the window right before chasing the boys. You can see the Post Theater on the left of the still and that whole side of the street is now a low-income housing complex as you can see in the 2014 photo below.
To get to this spot, take yourself to 1413 Chicago Avenue South in Minneapolis.

Located at 11091 Mississippi Boulevard in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, this vacant lot is where the Cook Memorial Arena once stood. This location was used in the scene in "Mighty Ducks" where District 5 becomes the Ducks and they get their jerseys for the first time. The arena itself was torn down in 2012. This is how the location looked in 2014.

Gaviidae Commons - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN

This is the skyway the Ducks skate through. Above is a still from the film; below in 2014.

Above is from the film; below in 2014. This same shot was also used in the 2001 film, "Joe Somebody."

The stairs Fulton skated down shown above in the film; below in 2014.

The mall itself is a shell of what it used to be. It is very empty these days. Anyway, you can see where Fulton slams into the lady, knocking her into the fountain (above). The below image is how it appeared in 2014.

Located on Park Avenue South in Minneapolis, Peavey Park is the location in the film "Mighty Ducks" where Gordon goes to meet his would-be Ducks for the first time. The above photo is how the location appeared in the film; below in 2014. The future Ducks (District 5) are supposed to be playing hockey on a pond, which the limo drove out onto.
