Pheasant Run - "The Bridges of Madison County" Filming Location - Winterset, IA
In the film "The Bridges of Madison County," Francesca and Robert go to a fictitious bar called "The Blue Note." Above are two stills from the film. This was actually shot in a bar called Pheasant Run Pub & Grill, located at 103 South 1st Street in Winterset, Iowa. There is even a sign out front of the bar that says "Home of the Blue Note in the Movie" - referring to "The Bridges of Madison County," which you can see below in the photo I took in June of 2018.

Goodbye in the Rain Scene - "The Bridges of Madison County" Filming Location - Winterset, IA
This location was hard to find because the entire area is changed/remodeled. In the above pair of photos, the top image is a still from the film and below is the same location in June of 2018. I took the photo standing on West Green Street where it meets John Wayne Drive - facing east. The Winterset General Store no longer exists and has been replaced by a Subway restaurant. The pair of photos below has the top image from the film with the truck pulling away from the General Store. The bottom image was taken on West Green Street facing east.

Cemetery in the Middle of the Road - West Des Moines, IA
Located at the intersection of 88th Street and Mills Civic Parkway is the Huston Cemetery, right in the middle of the road. This small plot holds the bodies of the James Huston family, a mid-1800s family settling in the territory. This photo above is how the location appeared in June of 2018. With development occurring on all sides of the cemetery, it will eventually no longer be in the middle of the road.

Wall Drug - Wall, SD
As you pass through South Dakota, you simply can not miss all of the Wall Drug billboards along I-90. Naturally, we had to stop in June of 2018 to see what the hype was all about - this place is HUGE. It's an insane tourist trap, but it was worth the stop. Bring some money and drink the free ice water.

Crazy Horse Memorial - Crazy Horse, SD
When traveling through western South Dakota, do not miss the Crazy Horse Memorial. First of all, this thing is HUGE and they do not anticipate it being finished for another 50 years. However, there is a lot to do on the Memorial grounds and lots of history for you to learn about. This is a can't miss Black Hills Destination. This is how it appeared in June of 2018.

Hansen's Cafe - "Children of the Corn" Filming Location - Hornick, IA
The interiors of Hansen's Café were actually in Hornick, Iowa. The building burned down and was razed, but you can see Isaac looking in the window of the café in the above still from the film. Below is the location in April of 2018. The front of the cafe's foundation still remains! You can find it on Main Street in Hornick, Iowa.
