The Waco Tragedy - Mt. Carmel Center - Waco, TX

I visited this location in August of 2021. All that was asked of me was a $5 donation, which I gave with no hesitation. I want you to look through these photos really well. Above is the new chapel buildt where the front of the larger complex stood before it burned down. The original flag pole remains.

Quick Hill - "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)" Filming Location - Round Rock, TX

 

Without a doubt, the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" film is one of the scariest of all time. I made sure to seek out this location of where the original house once stood, as well as where the road where the final chase scene happened. 

The old road and area where the Sawyer house was is almost unrecognizable here in 2021, but some remnants remain. I would encourage you to visit this location as soon as possible as there is a lot of construction going on around it, and this site will no doubt disappear in the coming years. It is fenced off and labeled "private property." You can find it directly south of the Camden La Frontera Apartments in Round Rock, Texas.

Top Notch Hamburgers - "Dazed & Confused" Filming Location - Austin, TX

 

Top Notch Hamburgers was used quite a bit in the 1993 hit film, "Dazed & Confused." It was also used in the film, "Varsity Blues" for one scene. The top image is a screen shot from "Dazed & Confused"; the bottom is the same location in August of 2021. You can fin d it at 7525 Burnet Road in Austin, Texas.

On Set Cinema Presents: "Children of the Corn" - Whiting, IA

 

On Saturday, July 17th, 2021, I made the trip to Whiting, Iowa to watch the film right by the infamous flag pole, where some major scenes in the original "Children of the Corn" movie were filmed. The above image is some of the original "children" reuniting at the flag pole itself.

Tommy Doyle's House - "Halloween 6" Filming Location - Salt Lake City, UT

Paul Rudd played the ever-cautious Tommy Doyle in "Halloween 6." His house (actually Mrs. Blankenship's house - Tommy just lived upstairs) is located directly across the street from the Myers house. The above image is a still from the film; below is the same spot in June of 2021. You can find it at 956 Ramona Avenue in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Flintstones Bedrock City - Williams, AZ

If you find yourself in the Grand Canyon area, I highly suggest you pull off the highway and visit Bedrock City. This Flintstones-themed roadside attraction is certainly worth the stop!

Myers House - "Halloween 6" Filming Location - Salt Lake City, UT

 

Located at 1926 Lincoln Street in Salt Lake City, Utah is the Michael Myers house from "Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers." The top image is a still from the film; bottom is the same location in June of 2021.

Grand Teton National Park - Jackson, WY

 

On our road trip in June of 2021, Grand Teton was not something I was super excited to see. However, there is no denying the absolute beauty of this National Park.

Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibit - Las Vegas, NV

My family and I visited this exhibit in June of 2021. I highly recommend it, especially if you have younger children. The whole experience is VERY interactive and appropriate for all ages. The cost is reasonable (and even more so if you use Groupon).

 

Great Salt Lake - Salt Lake City, UT

 

The infamous Great Salt Lake. These photos are from June of 2021. Yes, the water levels were low...but I will never forget about the grotesque smell. AND THE FLIES! Between the smell and getting attacked by MILLIONS of flies, I wish I would have skipped visiting this lake.

Myers House - "Halloween 5" Filming Location - Salt Lake City, UT

 

The Myers House from "Halloween 5" can still be seen in all of its colorful glory at 1007 East 1st Avenue in Salt Lake City, Utah. The top image is a still from the film; on the bottom is the same location in June of 2021.

Monument Valley - "Forrest Gump" Filming Location - Arizona

 

Monument Valley is located on the Indian reservation in northern Arizona. This location has been used in countless western films, but most famously showcased in the scene where Forrest Gump decided to stop running. It also appeared on the box art for "Josh & S.A.M."

The Carruthers House - "Halloween 4 & 5" Filming Location - Salt Lake City, UT

 

Located at 509 East 3rd Avenue North in Salt Lake City, Utah, you can find Jamie's house (a.k.a. The Carruthers House) from both "Halloween 4" and "Halloween 5." The top image is a still from "Halloween 4" and the bottom photo is the same location in June of 2021.

King's of Preston - "Napoleon Dynamite" Filming Location - Preston, ID

 

King's of Preston was used in the film "Napoleon Dynamite." This is the place where Napoleon purchased his sweet suit for the high school dance. This picture was taken in June of 2021 and you can find it at 52 South State Street in Preston, Idaho.

The Actual Sandlot - "The Sandlot" Filming Location - Salt Lake City, UT

It's hard to believe, but this is where the boys in the hit film "The Sandlot" played baseball in the movie. The was the field where they hit the ball over the fence and lost it to THE BEAST! It's unrecognizable, I know. It's fenced off and on private property, but you can find it near Glenrose Drive in the Glendale neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah. 

Arches National Park - Moab, UT

Arches National Park in Moab, Utah is truly a wonder of the world. The beauty expands for miles, and if you up to the hike, there is much to see. This photo is of one of their many arches, Delicate Arch.

Vincent Drug - "Halloween 4" & "The Sandlot" Filming Location - Midvale, UT

Vincent Drug was used in the filming of both "The Sandlot" and "Halloween 4." In the above set of images, the top photo is a screen grab from "Halloween 4," and the bottom is the same location in June of 2021. The pharmacy has been closed for several years at this point, but it can be found at 7696 Main Street West in Midvale, Utah.

Preston High School - "Napoleon Dynamite" Filming Location - Preston, ID

 

Preston High School was used as a primary filming location for the movie "Napoleon Dynamite." In the top image here, Deb and Napoleon have a conversation on the front steps of the school. The bottom image is the same location in June of 2021. You can find it at 151 E. 2nd S. in Preston, Idaho.

Saltair III - Salt Lake City, UT

 

Saltair has an extensive history in the SLC area, and has been rebuilt three times due to fire. I would encourage you to Google the background pin this place; it is truly interesting. I seriously wanted to see it because it was used in the 1993 film "Josh & S.A.M."
