Peavey Park - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN

 Located on Park Avenue South in Minneapolis, Peavey Park is the location in the film "Mighty Ducks" where Gordon goes to meet his would-be Ducks for the first time. The above photo is how the location appeared in the film; below in 2014. The future Ducks (District 5) are supposed to be playing hockey on a pond, which the limo drove out onto. However, there is no pond or body of water in this park.

Energy Park Studios - St. Paul, MN

The Hmong College Prep Academy, formerly Energy Park Studios, was used as a sound stage for several films including "Jingle All the Way," Mystery Science Theater 3000," "Drop Dead Gorgeous," and "Grumpier Old Men." This location can be found at 1515 Brewster Street in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I-35W Bridge Collapse - Minneapolis, MN

On August 1st, 2007 the I-35W bridge collapsed, killing thirteen people and injuring many, many more. This photo above was taken as I drove across the rebuilt bridge in 2014. Below is a photo of the damage in 2007.

Elizabeth's House - "Drop Dead Fred" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN


This location took me some serious research but I finally found it. In fact, I held on to the address for a few years so I could have this gem all to myself. But now, I turn the location of Elizabeth's house over to you. Located at 2018 Humboldt Avenue South in Minneapolis, the above photo is how the house appeared in the film; below in 2014.



As you can see, the giant tree has been removed.



No red fire trucks the day I was there!

Parade Ice Garden - "Mighty Ducks" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN

The Parade Ice Garden, located at 600 Kenwood Parkway in Minneapolis, was the location used in the film "Mighty Ducks" when the Ducks had their first game as a team.
The above photo is how the location appeared in the film; below is how it appeared in 2014.
This location was also used in D2: The Mighty Ducks 2. All of the games in that film that allegedly took place in Los Angeles were actually played here. The Ducks played Trinidad, Italy, Germany, Russia and their first game against Iceland at this location. Below are some still from D2.

Creative Kidstuff - "Jingle All the Way" Filming Location - Minneapolis, MN


 Located at 4313 Upton Avenue South in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this is part of the montage in the film "Jingle All the Way" where Arnold's character is scrambling to find a gift for his son. The above photo is how the location looked in the film. Below is how it appeared in 2014.

Fake New Ulm Sign - "New in Town" Filming Location - New Ulm, MN

In Renee Zellweger's 2009 film, "New in Town," the movie is said to be set in New Ulm, Minnesota. However, most of the film was actually shot in Canada. In the first part of the movie, we see Zellweger entering the fake New Ulm and she passes the town sign (above). The photo below is how the sign looks in real life.

Ghosts at Chanhassen Dinner Theater - Chanhassen, MN

Located at 501 West 78th Street in Chanhassen, Minnesota, the Inglenook Room within this building is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a young lady wearing Victorian-era clothing. Also, performers here have reported feeling a "presence" with them on stage.

Paisley Park Studios - Chanhassen, MN

Located at 7801 Audubon Road in Chanhassen, Minnesota, this studio and soundstage is owned by musician Prince. There were two notable movies filmed here. The interior shots of Max and John's homes in "Grumpy Old Men" were shot here as well as the dream sequence at the end of "Drop Dead Fred."
